About Cymbal.

Hello, I’m Cymbal (pronounced like a drum cymbal). I've been a Makeup Artist for almost 10 years and it’s something I'm very passionate about.

After falling into a deep depression from multiple miscarriages that left me feeling inadequate. I found makeup to be a coping mechanism. In order to escape these insecurities, I start watching makeup tutorials on YouTube and Instagram. I discovered a young lady by the name of Angel Cumberbatch. I studied her page and came across products that she recommended.

My husband purchased my first (4) Morphe palettes. When the palettes arrived, I was so excited to recreate my first look. However, it didn’t go so well, I gave up immediately. He intervened and informed me that every expert doesn’t start off an expert. It takes time, patience, and consistency. I thought things through and put my game face on. I began waking up at 2 or 3 am to practice in my living room. Any downtime at work, I practiced. I began recreating looks until I was satisfied. I had finally got the concept 2-3 months in.

I’d built up just enough skill that when I’ll go out, people would compliment or request the artist behind the work. I began posting my looks on facebook and gained the attention of potential clients. However, I wasn’t ready for that part of the game. In order to grow I began practicing my skills on close friends and family. I quickly earned a loyal clientele. Within a short period of time into my career, I was listed in my hometown (St.Louis,Mo) local magazine as the “Top 9 Makeup Artist You Should Know”.

I relocated to Dallas in hopes of furthering my career. I quickly realized that changing locations presented new challenges. The odds were definitely against me. The biggest struggle being not knowing anyone.

In an effort to find success in a new market, I decided to add myself to every DFW group I could find, advertised 3x’s a week, and connected with local vendors. After months of marketing, I realized there was little to no return. I was marketing to a broad audience, and when you market to everyone you market to no one at all. I had to learn the importance of rebranding and niche marketing. That’s the most important factor behind Cymply Beauty’s success. Knowing who your ideal clients are from not ideal, will save you time, money and stress. I think of niche marketing as bigger fish in a smaller pond. I began investing in marketing materials to help set me apart from local vendors. I set out to find my target audience, rebranded and gravitated towards weddings.

I created The Cymply Beauty Bridal Experience because I want brides to have access to an exceptional beauty experience that makes them feel beautiful, comfortable and confident on their big day. Every bride deserves to feel like royalty on her wedding day!
